Q:You have a good friend who recently has acquired several cuts and bruises on different parts of her body. She says that she has been tripping and running into a lockers lately. You don't believe her. What do you do?

A:I was walking to class the other day when I noticed that my good friend had a huge bruise on her leg. I asked her what had happened, and she said that her little sister did it. I’m pretty sure that her 3 year old little sister wouldn’t of made a bruise on her leg that big, I knew it was false information.
I was too afraid to ask her if she was fibbing to me or if she was actually being serious. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings either, for her to think that I didn’t trust her word. I was worried about her though. I knew that her parents got in a lot of fights with her, and she has never talked about them hitting her or even touching her in a wrong way.
I do know that her parents are both bipolar. They usually take out all the anger on her also because she is the oldest. I let it go for a little while just so that I could have some time for my friend and I to think about it. I also thought that if I gave her some time she might be able to confess up to me about what really happened.
My friend and I always meet up after every class. Then the nest period I saw her and she wasn’t looking too good, so I asked her what was wrong. She then explained to me that she was sorry for lying to me but if I were to ask her if her parents beat her last night she would of answered yes.
I told her she dont have to take that anymore, she said She didnt want to get beat even more. Since we are friends I told the counsel her situation. The very next day the counsel called her up to her office to ask her question. She meet up with me and was MAD. she didnt want to be my friend because I so called snitch.
Well when she got home the police threatin to put her parents in jail, so they stop hitting her. She called me so happy and told me she was sorry, and i was right.
